Last day in the Westland for all of us. The farewell dinner party was very successful yesterday. We could taste some of the Dutch specialities: pancakes and lasagne. Catalan people offered in turn potato omelette, Mediterranean salad and bread and tomato (of course!). For dessert, ice-cream for everybody. Now the students are in their lessons writing down their final goodbye messages to each other. We have enjoyed our stay through all kinds of weather -unusually cold for Dutch people themselves-: a bit of wind, a bit of rain, a bit of snow, and bit of sun to wave us goodbye. SEE YOU IN LLEIDA!

WEDNESDAY 10th
After being so cold for the past two days we have been rewarded with a snowy landscape, which has not deterred us from cycling, so soaked are we with the Dutch spirit. This morning the students are working hard in the lessons with their partners and learning a lot. They keep on telling us about their efforts to communicate and we can see they are making progress. Tonight we are having a special dinner at school, prepared by parents, students and whoever wants to join in. We are looking forward to it!
Si us animeu, ja ho sabeu!

TUESDAY 9th

MONDAY 8TH
After working for a couple of hours at school, we took trams and buses to visit Den Haag. First of all we went to the Historisch Museum to meet our guide, who took us around the Binnenhof, the seat of Parliament, and told us about the history of the town. It was chilling cold but we stood up to the weather and got away with just slightly frozen feet, nothing a hot chocolate couldn't fix. Back to Naaldwijk, five degrees below zero ... and cycling home!

WEEKEND 6th, 7th
With glowing cheeks from the cool morning air and the mild exercise on our bikes, we make ourselves at home in a warm, cosy nook of the staffroom at Lentiz. After a long weekend, we are all eager to know about the students daily experience of Naaldwijk and its hospitality. We thought you would enjoy reading their own anecdotes:
"The weekend with the families was great! We went to Madurodam and it was very interesting, and very COLD"
Marta Gil
"On Saturday, we went with Carlos's partner to watch hockey. They played two matches. In the evening, we stayed at home playing Wii. At night, we went to a great party. On Sunday, I went to Ajax Stadium, which is called Arena. Ajax won 3.0. I enjoyed the match a lot. We are having a great time."

FRIDAY 5th GREENHOUSES AND SPORT
Hola!
After sleeping soundly the whole night we look like new people today, we can even cycle! we got up very early and went cycling to Flora Holland, the biggest flower auction centre in the country, impressive! After that, we went to Fachjan where we were welcome with some coffee and tea so that we could have a break. Fachjan is a greenhouse which keeps tropical plants, it's been something different.
Dear parents, our next post will be here on Monday. Till then, our students will enjoy two full days of family life. Have a nice weekend!
